Dogsled racing, or sled dog racing, is a competitive sport of racing sleds pulled by dogs, over snow-covered cross-country courses. This year I was able to attend an exciting Haliburton Highlands Dogsled Derby in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
The Haliburton Highlands Dogsled Derby sanctioned by IFSS world cup. This year’s dog sled racing event in Haliburton was mighty cold. I spent two days enduring -25° C and shot over 2,000 images. I was able to get several excellent vantage points where I can have the dog team at eye level and in some cases dead on.
