Croatian port city Rijeka
The working-class Croatian port city of Rijeka is on Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic Sea. The town was named ‘European Capital of Culture for 2020‘. It even beat out other more famous cities in Croatia like Dubrovnik and Split.
The photograph taken near dusk features small motorboats side by side in what appears to be a river but is merely a tiny inlet open to the ocean. The channel, located in the town center of Rijeka, is perfect for taking a stroll along the Korzo and experiencing the heart of Croatia’s third-largest city of roughly 140,000 people. Rijeka Austro-Hungarian architecture is typical of many Mediterranean cities, but I found my primary focus was the many cafes to lounge in with views across the bay.
The photograph taken with my Sony AR7 iv shot handheld. I boosted the ISO to 400 and was able to take a sharp image with very little noise. As with most of my post-processing, this image was processed entirely in Adobe Lightroom.
