Moody Dusk Roman Colosseum

The Colosseum is the main symbol of Rome and has been photographed by millions of people. The Roman Colosseum receives 6 million visitors a year as per the tourist bureau. So as photographers we are tasked with making unique and, therefore, interesting images of this over-shot monument.

I choose to shoot after dusk and to create a dark and lonely mood. Fitting given that the Roman Colosseum was host to over 50,000 spectators watching gladiator fights or even executions of prisoners. The technique I used is similar to this after dusk shot in Tuscany. I was able to setup my tripod off the terace of Colosso Metro Cafe
